Waking Up From History - Part 4

Monotony is getting the better of me today.  I need to do a bit better about being occupied with my time.  A routine is important to everyone, and I got nowhere near that.  I fight a battle with sleep at times and last night was one of those times.  That just laid the foundation for things to not be 'normal.'  Normal here is for my 'Alarm Cat' to go off between 4 and 5 a.m.  So most days start around 5 with the cat being fed at 6.  This morning, I did not get to sleep until after 2, which threw everything off.  I'll do better tomorrow.

Of course, the weather probably didn't help. It has been cold and dreary the last two days.  A counter balance to the abnormal that we had last week with weather in the 70s.  Not sure what the balance of the week will hold with the weather.  I know I need to get outside and spend some time in the fresh air.

Last night, I used Facebook to check in with some of my students past and present.  I enjoyed interacting with them.  It started out being just my current students, but former students also chimed in.  That just made it so much more fun.  I just feel that it is important in this time of forced isolation that we reach out and make sure we do what we can to let folks know we are still interested in how they are doing.

I have been impressed at how quickly the advertising agencies have adjusted to our new reality.  The ability to turn from just hawking product to always trying to to put a positive spin on these "uncertain times."  They just need to come up with another term for that.
